ASVAFER has various models at its headquarters. These models can be classified into two classes:
generic ones, which do not represent any specific place, and representative models,
which show the heritage of Valladolid, both current and that which has disappeared.
Our H0 scale model occupies two rooms and the trains pass from one to the other through two tunnels, both with double track.
The model contains 3 independent circuits: one for direct current, one for alternating current and a small narrow gauge railway
in H0e scale. The model has three stations and several track yards for shunting, one of which has a depot with a turntable.
In the following image gallery you can see details of different parts of this model:
N scale model (1:160)
This model represents how the railway overcomes differences in height. It has two passenger stations and one freight station
with a loading area and locomotive depot with its corresponding turntable. One of the stations represented is Medina del Campo.
In the image gallery you can see details of different parts of this model, such as its bridges and tunnels,
as well as a reproduction of the Medina del Campo station.
G scale model (1:22.5)
At our headquarters we have a G scale model representing a crossing station on a single track line.
The model has a single track circuit and a station where trains can cross. It also has a ramp branch that ends at a mountain station.
The model has an educational function since it illustrates how the crossing maneuver is carried out on single track lines.
The following gallery shows various details of our G scale model.
Representative models
In a building at our headquarters we have two models that show the heritage of Valladolid.
One of them represents the current railway area, showing, for example, the Campo Grande station or the
locomotive depot. The other shows the now-disappeared heritage
of the railway known in Valladolid as the "Donkey train".
Model of the Valladolid railway area
This huge model, more than 12 metres wide in H0 scale, represents many aspects of the railway area in the centre of Valladolid.
It shows the Campo Grande station and all its annex buildings, the locomotive depot,
with the water tanks and other auxiliary buildings. It also shows the Esperanza Station,
the headquarters of our association.
This model has been digitalized and its circulations are controlled by computer.
In the image gallery you can see various details, as well as more general photographs.
Model of the missing "Donkey Train"
This model, built in G scale, shows what was the urban section of the "Donkey Train", paying homage to the Railway Heritage
that has now disappeared. It represents the two stations that this railway had in Valladolid: San Bartolomé, located in the
square of the same name, and Campo de Béjar, which was located in the current bus station.
The railway linked both stations passing through a lot of streets along Valladolid.
